TekBASE - Update 8.5.5 - GDPR part 2
May 24, 2018
Already a little more than two weeks ago we released the first part of the GDPR update and today the second part follows. In this update the admin and customer area were revised and the relevant actions that make processing of customer data necessary were expanded to include GDPR logs. These provide information about which data and for what purpose were used. However, the actual data used are not stored, only the information whether "Email, address, ..." were used for the process.
The TekBASE customer area now has two new functions under "Profile". The "GDPR Logs" generate a list of stored events for the customer. The GDPR log entries are automatically deleted with an expiration date at the end of the following year. The "GDPR Export" creates a .csv file with the currently stored customer data.
Users who, for example, sign up for the affiliate program or for prepaid servers with the hosts are automatically deleted after the deadline expires if the customer account has not been used. The stored customer data are then no longer present in the system. This only applies if the customer account has no invoices or open credits. So, as written, it is unused.
This update requires no design adjustments and makes the features available immediately.
