New Gameserver Comparison Page
July 05, 2016
As some users know, it emerged in recent weeks that a game server provider has been running more or less a game server comparison site for years, or is the owner/shareholder of it. Here we asked ourselves the question how such a comparison site can still be neutral, especially when the provider's labels are practically being promoted there.
With our TekBASE we not only offer software for hosts, but also repeatedly advocate for the interests of our customers. Like back then with the ESL's protection mode, which excluded new hosts and would have led to massive revenue losses.
Since early June we have launched an independent comparison site for game servers, root servers and virtual servers at gameserver-vergleich.com. In our opinion this offers considerably more features and a clearer layout.
- No monthly fees for listing as a provider
- No commission per referred customer, as is usually the case
- Voucher system to promote products
- Game list expandable by providers and therefore always up to date
- Providers can store descriptions per game to help shape the system
- Advertising spaces and features to highlight own offers
The ratings of the individual providers are integrated directly from TekBASE's rating system or, upon request, from other rating systems. Manipulating ratings would therefore involve considerable effort. This is different on comparison sites that allow Facebook users to submit ratings. Here you don't even have to be a customer of a game server provider to rate them positively. Thus smaller providers will suddenly receive many good ratings. Whether these come from real customers, friends, or self‑created profiles is another matter.
